They are slow, or not progressing at all, because everyone keeps giving them LOTS of fish and  NO fishing nets”.

This is where CIWABA, through the QwertyClick program, comes in.

Computer literacy is a fishing net that we have in stock for poor and disadvantaged communities in rural Africa. Hard working and self sustaining individuals are all needed by these communities. Free training is a magic pill for them and we do make this happen.

Computer literacy is commonly referred to the ability to use a computer. However, just being able to use a computer is just the first step of being computer literate. Being able to start a computer, type some text, open some web pages, send an email or chat online isn’t enough. To be qualified as a basic computer user, one should be able to successfully accomplish the following task with minimal or zero external aid.

  1. Installing and configuring common software.
  2. Use common word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software.
  3. Use the internet to send and receive messages and instant messages via web mail, email clients and chat services.
  4. Use the internet to transfer files between a computer and the World Wide Web through uploading and downloading download computer files
  5. Publish information to the web and also search for information on the web
  6. Scan and print documents

Due to low computer literacy rates in many third world countries, particularly those of Africa, there is relatively less competition in computer related jobs than in any other job category. With adequate computer skills, each and every trained member of a rural community (even with less than average general education) can successfully create a job for him/herself or get employed and earn a salary that doubles the generally observed average salaries for citizens in the unskilled job sector.

That said, let’s now talk about Who We Are.
